Beauty all above you, beauty all below you,
Beauty all around you, beauty all within you
All above you, all below you,
all around you, all within you
You are beauty,
you are beauty
You see the beauty of the dancer
You hear the beauty of the song
You feel the beauty all around you
You wonder where do you belong.
You are the beauty of the dancer
You are the beauty of the song
You are the beauty all around you
You're standing right where you belong.
This song works wonderfully to ground a group in beauty at the Gratitude point on the spiral, and also after the “My Choices for this Life” practice, with its affirmation “You’re standing right where you belong.” When leading this song, ask the higher voices to stand to one side – they’ll sing Part 3. Teach each of the parts, and then divide the group in three. Start a group on Part 1, and keep them going as you bring in Parts 2 and then 3. The leader can sing Part 4, alone or with others. Then have everyone mill among each other as they continue singing.
The recordings here include simple versions of each of the parts and a mix showing one way to sequence them when teaching the song. Also included is author Sara Thomsen’s gorgeous version.
