Magnificence

By Peter Makena

Lyrics

Part 1

Halleluja, halleluja

Parts 2 and 3

There is so much magnificence in the ocean*
Waves are coming in, waves are coming in

Part 4

Halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, halleluja

*original lyrics say "near the ocean"

Notes

Sing this one slowly to evoke the motion of ocean waves and give gratitude to the mother all biological life. When a group gets going on it, it feels like being rocked in the arms of great mother ocean.

The halleluja parts start on A, an octave apart; Parts 2 and 3 start on C sharp and E.

Words and music by Peter Makena. www.petermakena.com

"When I originally came up with the song some 35 years ago at the Osho Ashram in India, I did it a little different then, it seems to have its own life and the melodies and harmonies always tend to move closer toward the direction of the Pachabel Canon."
