One of the properties of open systems is that they are holons: whole systems in their own right, comprised of subsystems and simultaneously an integral part of a larger system. This song captures the essence of the “holonic shift in consciousness” that's fundamental to the Great Turning.

Get a group going on the first part, and then bring in the second part and its harmony. Starting notes for the three parts are B flat, B flat (up one octave), G and E flat. It’s powerful when singers look each other in the eye as they mill about, or form concentric circles facing in and out while stepping in opposite directions.
