Everything

by Light Bear

Lyrics

I listen to me flowing by
I watch me in the trees take flight
I feel me blowing through my hair
I am everywhere

I watch me nibble my spring buds
My roots press deep into my muds
I breathe me in, I am the air
I am everywhere

Chorus:

I’ve no boundaries at my skin
I am all outside and all that's within
I am birdsong and I sing
I am everything, everything
I am everything, everything

I am the boards beneath my feet
Through cottonwood I smell my sweet
I sense me stirring in ground
I am all around

I greet my self upon my way
We speak and contemplate our day
We know ourselves through other eyes
We are butterflies, worms divine

Chorus:

We’ve no boundaries at our skin
We are all outside and all that's within
We are birdsong and we sing
We are everything, everything
We are everything, everything

Notes

This is a song of the ecological self, a widened sense of who "I" or "we" are. "We know ourselves through other eyes," says Light Bear, who wrote this song on a walking meditation in the Nisqually Delta, in Washington State.

The chorus is easy to sing and embodies Seeing with New Eyes.
